Music Monday – It’s Too Late, Baby

Well, it’s Wednesday.  I missed Monday by two days again…and, so, the title, which happens to be from a great song by Carole King.

It’s Too Late by Carole King

(released 1971; peaked #1 US Hot 100)

And it’s too late, baby, now it’s too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can’t hide it
And I just can’t fake it
Oh, no no no no

This song won the Grammy for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 1972 helping the album Tapestry hold the number one spot for fifteen weeks and remain on the charts for six years on its way to selling over 25 million copies.  In 2004, Rolling Stone placed “It’s Too Late” in the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
